This Lent season will focus on powerful parables preached by Jesus. Whether teaching about the purpose of fasting, the Kingdom of Heaven, forgiveness, or God's great love for humankind, Jesus had a way with words.
This powerful Storyteller left us with an amazing blueprint on how to love God and love others. His parables are filled with allegories, layers of meaning, and unforgettable messages of hope. This month includes a special lesson to encourage our teens to make a special effort to fast and really engage in the spirit of Great Lent this year.
"To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, so that 'Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them.'" (Mark 4:11-12)
