Every person wants to answer the question “what makes me, me?” Is our identity about our characteristics (outgoing, funny, shy); our hobbies (musical, athletic, artistic); our role in life (friend, sibling, athlete); or the brands we choose to wear? This month, we will explore a crucially important topic with our teens about finding long-lasting purpose in the only real source that matters: as children of God who are profoundly loved by Him.
The Body of Christ is indeed made up of many members, so we are not made to be exactly alike, we are all uniquely knit together in our own design. Finding peace and happiness in our purpose will happen when we discover ourselves in discovering God. Or, as St. John stated, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
For you created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14.
